Transfers
If you are applying as a transfer student from another institution, you must submit all college level, official transcripts along with the same application materials as a first-time student.
Typically, a maximum of 30 studio art credits and 30 liberal art credits earned at other colleges and universities may be transferred toward the BFA degree at the Institute. Only courses carrying a grade of C or better are eligible for transfer. The Institute reserves the right to not transfer credits for coursework that is more than ten years old, unless a degree has been awarded and a grade of C or better was earned. Courses taken through the Institute’s Certificate Program before admission to the BFA program are subject to transfer review and restrictions and Department Chairperson review of the student’s portfolio.
The review of transfer credits for studio courses may require that the student submit a course syllabus, written work, and portfolio examples which represent his or her work in a particular class.
Articulation Agreements
The New Hampshire Institute of Art has an articulation agreement for students from the following colleges and universities: the University of New Hampshire, Manchester; NHCC Laconia; Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA; and Vincennes University, Vincennes, IN. Students who earn associate degrees from these institutions have simplified application and transfer procedures in a “2+2” agreement.
