BFA Registration
All Bachelor of Fine Art students register in the BFA Registration Office:
Fuller Hall, 156 Hanover Street.
Open: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The office is closed on Institute holidays. The BFA Registration Office is responsible for monitoring student records, class schedules, graduation clearance, and other related matters. Questions regarding degree progress, declaration of concentration, reported grades, transcripts, enrollment verification and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act should be directed to the Registrar. BFA Registration Process
After completion of a formal advising session with a student advisor, all students seeking registration must present a BFA Registration form, signed by the student and their Advisor, to the Registrar. If the course you wish to register for is closed or requires department permission, you should contact the Registrar. Asking the instructor for permission to take the course does not register you in the course(s). Students must register for the course(s) in the Registrar’s office. If you are on a waiting list for a course, you are not registered for that course, therefore you are not entitled to attend the course. Bursar and Payment
All payment takes place in the Bursar’s Office:
French Building, 148 Concord Street
Open: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Questions regarding payment, billing and charges should be directed to the Bursar. It is fully expected that all outstanding semester charges will be paid in full prior to the first day of class of the semester. Students who fail to make due payments by the designated deadline are subject to a $100 late fee.
Methods of payment (cash, check or credit card) are received by the Bursar. Add/Drop Period
A student may change his/her registered schedule through the first week of the semester. The Add/Drop form (available outside the Registration office) with all changes listed, must be completed with the Advisor’s and/or the Department Chair’s signature, and then returned to the Registrar. Withdrawals and Refunds
Refunds for paid tuition for dropped classes is as follows:
If dropped before the 1st week of classes ends 100%
If dropped before the 2nd week of classes ends 80%
If dropped before the 3rd week of classes ends 50%
If dropped before the 4th week of classes ends 25%
There are no refunds given after the 4th week of classes.
The registration fee and SAC fee are non-refundable. Enrollment Verification
The Registrar can verify enrollment for any student enrolled in the BFA program. All enrollment verification requests should be in writing and include the student’s name, former name if any, dates to be verified and the student’s signature. Financial Responsibilities
No degrees, transcripts, enrollment verifications or grade reports will be issued to any student whose financial accounts are not settled with the Institute. Student ID Cards
For the safety and security of our students, equipment and facilities, all students must carry an Institute Student ID card while on Institute premises. All students will be issued an ID card as part of their term registration fee, which allows for studio use, library borrowing privileges, a 10% discount on all student supplies in the Institute shop as well as free admission to Currier Art Museum. BFA students may obtain a Photo ID request form from the Office of the Registrar. Parking Stickers
Parking stickers are required for all students who have a car on campus throughout the year. Parking stickers are good for one academic year. Parking Stickers may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar. Please note that this sticker does not guarantee parking in our lots, it is used for monitoring purposes only.
