En Plein Air Landscape Intensive
with Stuart Shils

MAW003 3 Days (Offsite)
Fri. - Sun. 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
(Oct. 16 - 18, 2009)
Join us for three days of intensive painting outdoors with renowned artist Stuart Shils. In the tradition/spirit of "first strike" or alla prima, emphasis will be placed on the perceptual processes in front of nature; the editorial response that follows in the head of the painter; how that takes form in two dimensions; and perhaps, most importantly, questioning what is meant by "finish". There will be an hour-long demonstration each day and a slide talk on Thursday evening that will establish the direction of the workshop.
Prerequisite: Intermediate/Advanced-level artists. Limit: 15
Tuition: $800
Material List: Will be provided before the start of class.
