TETI LIBRARY

Services

Reference Service
Librarians are here to assist you with your research; please do not hesitate to ask any questions that may arise throughout your research process. If the library does not have what you need, the librarians will obtain resources for you or direct you to alternate sources. If you need extensive research assistance, please contact Monica McCarter at 836-2530 or mmccarter@nhia.edu.

Databases/Guides
A "Databases/Guides" tab links from the library catalog to a page consisting of database links and abstracts of full-text periodical articles, general and subject specific encyclopedias, biographical information, picture research databases, online subject guides and other research tools. These databases are accessible in the library, on campus, and from home. Please ask library staff if you need assistance accessing databases from home for the first time.

Course Reserves
Books and periodicals are placed on reserve at the circulation desk. Items on reserve may be checked out for two hours at a time and used within the library.

Copying and Computer Access
Computers are available in the library for student, faculty, and staff use. Library users are welcome to use the black and white printer for research and course requirements. A color copy machine is also available near the library circulation desk. Black and white copies are 10 cents each and color copies are 25 cents each.

Kurzweil Software
The Kurzweil Software, loaded on one computer in the library, is used with a scanner to create audio files of course materials designed to assist students with learning disabilities. Please ask the library staff for assistance.

Scanner
The scanner used in conjunction with the Kurzweil software is also available for general scanning needs. Patrons may print scanned items in black and white free of charge, color copies for 25 cents each, or save digital files on a personal flash drive, or on a CD (available at the circulation desk). Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance with the scanner.

How do I obtain a library card?
Bring your NHIA identification card and a driver's license (or State identification card) to the library Circulation Desk. Once we verify your status, a barcode will be placed on your card. An NHIA ID is required for borrowing library materials.

Can I renew materials?
Library materials may be renewed once via your patron account, available through the library catalog. Items must be renewed before they have become overdue. If you would like to renew materials that are overdue, please call or email the circulation manager to assist you with this.

Will I be fined for late or damaged materials?
An overdue late charge of $3.00 per item accrues at the end of a brief grace period.
