REGISTRATION FORM
The New Hampshire Institute of Art presents the 2nd Annual Mt. Washington Summer Workshop. This program provides students with a unique opportunity to create photographs and paintings while experiencing, firsthand, the majesty of the White Mountains and the grandeur of the Mt. Washington Hotel.
The Mount Washington Hotel is a luxury hotel set in beautiful Bretton Woods, NH. All courses are held Monday through Thursday in daylong, eight hour sessions.

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS
Participants must be over the age of 18 to be eligible to enroll in this program. BFA students, Art Educators, Alumni, Continuing Education students and general community members are invited to enroll today.

ART EDUCATORS
Are you an art educator in a K-12 school? If so, you have the opportunity to receive Professional Development Credits toward teacher re-certification. Teachers also receive a 20% discount for this program!

Landscape Painting

Using the inspirational backdrop and visual seduction surrounding the Mount Washington area, this workshop will provide opportunities to build, sharpen or revisit approaches to landscape painting. Participants can expect to explore a range of materials, styles and techniques that will capture the nature of form and color out of doors, where light and atmosphere are ever changing. Hands-on demonstrations and the active on-site challenge of the wooded vista-filled locations are supported by individual and group critiques intended to expand expression, learning and spontaneity.

Digital Landscape Photography in the White Mountains

The majestic White Mountains of northern New Hampshire will be the backdrop for this hands-on workshop. Students will not only explore the creation of landscape imagery in a breathtakingly beautiful setting, but also edit their photographs for output on a large format Epson printer. The course will cover camera equipment selection and use in the field, editing digital files using Adobe Photoshop software, printing digital files, and a brief history of American landscape photography. Daily field trips and group critiques will guide students to the successful completion of a small body of work by the end of the workshop. Students should bring a digital SLR camera, a choice of lenses and a tripod as well as a good pair of walking shoes.

Color Perspective with Watercolor

Kevin Dadoly, Institute Painting Faculty
Obtain stronger landscape paintings by understanding the power of warm and cool colors with watercolor. This course will help students learn how to mix and manipulate color, combined with an awareness of values, to achieve convincing landscape perspectives. Students will be assigned several landscape exercises, each with a different focus and color goal. This workshop class is designed for watercolor student at all levels. Expect hard work and a lot of fun!

TUITION:
Tuition for the program includes the educational program, housing and meals. Meals include two dinners, four continental breakfasts, one full breakfast, and four box lunches. Participants are responsible for their dinner meals Monday through Wednesday.
Bachelor of Fine Arts: $1,550
Continuing Education: $1,300
Continuing Education participants who do not require housing for the program are provided an educational and food only rate.
Program Rate Only: $800
Registration after April 16 will require a $200 administration fee in addition to the tuition price listed above.
HOUSING:
The Mt. Washington Hotel has arranged for all program participants to stay in their fully-furnished townhomes. All townhomes offer spacious dining areas, full kitchens, fireplaces and outdoor decks. The townhomes reserved for this program each have three bedrooms that include one queen bed master suite and two bedrooms, each with two twin beds. Master Suites are available on a first-come, first served basis and the Institute does not guarantee individual bedrooms for participants. Register early!
The majority of participants will be placed in double occupancy rooms within the townhouses. Should you require a single room or wish to stay at the historic hotel, please contact the Mt. Washington Resort to arrange your personal lodging. Participants are responsible for any additional lodging fees.
TRANSPORTATION:
All program participants are responsible for their individual transportation to the Mt. Washington Resort. Once at the resort, on campus transportation will be provided by the Mt. Washington Shuttle services. Participants are welcome to use their individual cars while at the resort.
AMENITIES:
All guests of the townhomes have access to all Resort amenities including the Rosebrook Recreation Center, which offers an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, racquetball courts, exercise and weight rooms. While everything is close by, a resort shuttle is provided for your convenience, as well as 24-hour check-in and maintenance benefits.
The Institute will provide a program assistant to help you with specific requests during your stay in the townhomes.
