Academic Buildings

77 Amherst Street Building

The Amherst Street building offers a beautifully renovated space for Painting and Drawing, Illustration, and Ceramics as well as a student lounge. Faculty offices are located on the first floor for Painting, Foundations and Ceramics programs. Also located on the first floor is the Camera Shop and Art Supply Store, carrying all materials required for Institute courses as well as providing film developing, matting and framing and specialty supplies. The gallery in the Amherst Street building presents changing exhibitions, managed by the Gallery Director whose office is located in the gallery.

153 Concord Street

Renovated in 2006, the Concord Street building provides dedicated studio space for BFA seniors on the first and second floors. Administrative offices for Student Services, Advising, Counseling, and Human Resources are also located in this building.

Emma Blood French Building

Built for the Institute in 1916 by Mrs. Emma Blood French, the French Building houses drawing and painting studios, printmaking, jewelry and metalsmithing, as well as liberal art classrooms. In addition to studios and classrooms, the offices of Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, Development, Finance, and the President can all be found here. The first floor presents an exquisite gallery, while a formal auditorium and rotunda space make up the majority of the second floor.

Fuller Hall

Purchased and renovated in 2000, Fuller Hall houses the photography department, including state-of-the-art digital labs along with traditional wet-process labs. The Teti Library and Special Collections are located on the first floor along with the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar. The Salvador Deli and student lounge are located in the large atrium space on the first floor. The Academic Support Center is housed on the second floor along with faculty offices and a conference room. The student run Vault Gallery can be found on the first floor.

88 Lowell Street

Renovated in 2009, the 88 Lowell Street building provides both residential and academic space. Dorm rooms occupy the upper four floors with amazing views of downtown Manchester. The lower level and the first two floors are dedicated to academic use by Art Education, Illustration, Sculpture and Liberal Arts. The building is Gold LEED Certified.

St. Anne’s Church

Donated to the Institute by Brady Sullivan Properties in 2009, St. Anne’s Church provides the Institute with programming space for an art education lab school, which will provide after-school and weekend art activities for underserved populations. The nave is used for public programming and presentations.
